Berk's Arcade
Small browser games scribbled into the margins by Berk, the blue-plasticine servant of the castle, in between fetchin' bug burgers and dodgin' the trap door. Each one freshly cooked with proper sound and a bit o' visual mischief.
Echo — sonar in the deep dark
A small luminous creature lost in lightless water. Click to ping — a pulse of light traces the geometry around you, then dies. Reach the heart-light, but mind the things that wake when you sing into the dark.
Neon Asteroids — a vector reverie
Drift through magenta dust, blast geometric rocks before they squash yer. Bloom, screen shake, particle showers — the volume cranked all the way up. Built in Phaser. Three minutes of synthwave on the loop.
Worm Catcher — Drutt's supper
You play Drutt the spider, scuttlin' the dungeon floor for wrigglin' worms while dodgin' the bug-burgers. Speeds up as you go. A simple thing, but proper satisfyin' once yer in the rhythm.
Murmuration — a small ink-flock
You are a bird. The others follow you. Hawks dive and pluck the stragglers; thermals rise here and there — fly through one to bring another bird into the flock. Score is bird-seconds: every bird you keep alive earns its keep each second.
Lighthouse — a small light against a great sea
You are the keeper. Ships approach from the deep dark — guide them with your beam. Vessels held in the light follow it to safe water; vessels left in the night too long smash on the rocks. Three wrecks and the watch is lost.
Constellation — tracing the heavens before dawn
You are an astronomer. Stars scatter across the night sky in named figures — the Lyre, the Swan, the Hunter. Tap the numbered glyphs in sequence to inscribe each constellation. Dawn rises and steals stars one by one; three figures lost to the morning and the watch is ended.
Alembic — cooking horrible things to order
You are Berk, alchemist-cook in a draughty castle kitchen. The master upstairs bellows down for soup of eyeball jam, bug-burgers in pickled woodlice broth, sliced worm stew. Drag the right ingredients into the bubbling cauldron, in time. Three orders missed and the master roars you out the trap door.
Pendulum — a study in timing & resonance
A heavy iron pendulum swings on its own pace. Click and hold to charge a weight; release to drop. The weight ricochets off the bob and either hits a scoring ring or sails into the void. As the experiment progresses, second and third pendulums join the apparatus — phase-readings get harder.
